Let's Start Planting!

Thank you for getting involved in growing Albuquerque’s urban canopy. There are two main ways to plant: 

  1. Take the pledge to plant a tree in your yard or community. By taking the pledge below, we’ll send you a guide to walk you through the process of planting a tree, including a climate-ready list of trees, more information about the Water Authority’s Treebate program and more. Taking the pledge means committing to planting a tree in your community.
  2. Donate to have the City of Albuquerque plant a tree for you. You can donate to the One Albuquerque Fund to have a tree planted for you. This is a great option for renters or others who don’t have access to space for planting.

DONATE & WE'LL PLANT!

The City has partnered with local organizations, such as Tree NM, Neighborhood Associations, civic and religious organizations, and others, to plant trees all over town, while emphasizing areas with the least tree canopy cover.

Tree New Mexico has put together a resource center that can help guide you through how to plant your new tree, how to water it, and what you need to know to care for it. These Tree Tips will help ensure your new tree thrives in its new home.

25% OFF YOUR NEW TREE

In order to help increase the Tree Canopy in our urban area the Water Authority offers the Treebate to offset part of the cost of planting a new low or medium water usage tree. Get 25% rebate off the purchase and installation of eligible trees. Up to a maximum of $100 per year for residential customers and $500 per year for commercial customers.
